The 5th Annual Step Forward to Cure TSC 5K Walkathon / Run

Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance of Atlanta/North Georgia and honorary chair Senator Johnny Isakson will hold this year’s 5th Annual Step Forward to Cure Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) (www.StepForwardtoCureTSC.org)  on May 19, 2007  in Marietta Square .

Registration begins at 8:00 am and the scenic 3-mile walk and run begin at 9:00 am.  The walk and race will be followed by a post-event celebration which includes ICEE, clowns, and Williamson Bros. BBQ.   Step Forward to Cure TSC is a national fundraising effort organized locally by Atlanta area volunteers and families affected by TSC.  The Step Forward event provides an opportunity to create awareness of TSC and raise funds for community support programs and research to find a cure.

Over the past four years, the Atlanta event has raised nearly $340,000.  This year’s event goal is to raise $150,000 and to host 400+ participants.  These funds allow the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance to help researchers make some amazing strides in finding ways to slow the growth of TSC-related tumors, but it is only the beginning.  More needs to be done, and we need your help to find a cure.
