Great Gift Idea! Written & Photographed By Coleen Lou
|
|
If you would like to find a book suited for any age and perfect for gift giving for all occasions, look no further. I read a book entitled “Little One~End of Journey Alone,” by Ann Marquette and published by Publish America. By chapter 3, I knew it was a "winner." It is a beautifully descriptive book, full of wonderful, dream-like imagery and lessons learned through life and love. Its author, Ann Marquette lives in the Atlanta area, worked at Southern LINC and is obviously spiritual and knowledgeable in the true meaning of life, love and internal happiness. Many of her co-workers at Southern LINC, apparently gave her great support and encouragement, as she pursued her dream of getting her book published. |

The book, while written simplistically enough for children as young as age 8 to read on their own, would be enjoyed by all ages and greatly appreciated by the mature and life experienced, myself included. In addition, because of the way it is written in a story-telling format, it is perfect for teachers to read out loud to their younger students or parents and grandparents to read to their children or grandchildren. The adults will enjoy reading it, as much as, the children will enjoy hearing it. |

The story is about the travels and adventures of a little girl, her special friend and a unique creature. It has fantastic fantasy characters like fairies and many of nature’s wonderful little critters. The book is beautiful, warm and touching. I easily connected with the inspiring messages the author, Ann Marquette so beautifully integrates into the story. Of course, being a parent and educator myself, I truly appreciate entertaining or informational media in any format that gives uplifting messages and teaches important life lessons. In this day and age, we parents can use all the help we can get…..and this book is just the ticket!

I met with Ms. Marquette to photograph her and speak with her about her book. You know how sometimes you meet someone and you instantly hit it off? Our conversation was non-stop and I felt like I had known her my whole life. She is a very personable and a lovely lady who hopes that when “someone reads the |

book, it will touch his or her life in someway and make a difference.” She surely will succeed! You cannot help but to pause and reflect on your own life, when you read this story. Now I am really going to go out on a limb here, but I truly believe that Disney or Steven Spielberg could easily make this story into a beautiful, wonderful and memorable, family film! I would definitely go see it if they did!
To make your purchase an even more special and memorable gift, you can have it signed by the author. You may contact her directly at annslittleone@mindspring.com and show in the Subject line “Little One” book.
